Paul Bradford (GB)

Tutoring on PBSS: 2008
Tutorials: 279

Paul started cake decorating from a very early age helping out his gran on a Saturday afternoon with the baking. At age 9 Paul and his gran came to an arrangement where gran would bake the cakes and Paul would decorate them and he´s never stopped since. After leaving college he worked full-time at Oliphant´s bakery in Linlithgow then the age of 23 Paul opened his own his High Street shop in 2004. The cake business grew to 7 outlets with 35 staff, but Paul soon found that his passion was in teaching so sold the business in 2011.

Paul loves the online teaching platform and just loves people coming on his courses where he's keen to demonstrate that learning is just one part of the overall experience. Learning is all about having fun in a caring and forgiving environment and the best reward is seeing the cakes people have made through his teaching.

Paul's Awards & Certificates

Paul´s most notable award came when he was enrolled as a Disciple d´Escoffier.  This was one of his proudest moments of his career to date as this is reserved for the elite in the culinary industry. For more see Disciples-Esoffier.

Early in his career Paul won a number of awards for his cake designs including a Scothot silver award in 1995 at the age of 17. In 2003 Paul Bradford Designer Cakes won the Shell Livewire Business of the Year for use of technology.  It seems like nothing now the way things have evolved, but in 2003 he had the first website in the world where customers could come online and order and pay for their cake choosing different designs, flavours and whether it was for collection or delivery. This was all new back then.

In 2008 and 2009 Paul´s company won awards at the Voted Outstanding Wedding Supplier (VOWS awards) picking up best cake company in 2009.

More recently Paul Bradfortd Sugarcraft School won the Beast Learning experience award at the Cake Masters awards in 2014 and was nominated in both the Best Learning Experience and Cake Hero categories in 2015.
