Wedding cake advice please!

I’ve been asked to make a three tier cake next month….for about 150 people…

Two questions (there may be more?)

What three sizes should I make? Round cakes. I’ve not bought the tins yet so not too late.

Also, I’ll be ganaching and then sugarpaste…ideally I’d like each tier to be the same size as its board so that the whole “picture” flows….can you advise how I work out what size boards to use?

Thank you!

Hi therese1

To calculate servings please a look at the site calculators which will help you decide the size cakes you will need to bake. How big your cakes should be will also depend on how big a portion of cake you will wish to serve. The calculators are here: https://www.cakeflix.com/cake-calculators

When you stack the cakes, each one sits on its own card of the same size. The only one which is different will be the base board, the thick drum. Take a peek at Paul’s free tutorials on what size cards to use for each cake and how to stack correctly.
