Trapeze cake

Hi I wondered if anyone could help me. My daughters friend wants a cake making for a flying trapeze artist. Has anyone got any ideas or made one or seen a pic anywhere that I could look at. I have looked on all different sites but had no luck. I would imagine the trapeze figure would have to be very light. I’d be grateful of any input. Thankyou so much xx

Hi Smurf

I haven’t been able to find any tutorials for trapeze artist. However there are lots of cake ideas which can easily be achieved. I found these really easily achieveable design which can be changed to suit whatever you have in mind.

…… and there are many more in google images. Using cut out of the artists would be easier than making heavy models. If you want to make a model, perhaps have it as a topper in a gymnastic pose while connecting a rope down the edge of the cake to meet the silhouette figures.

I’ve had a search for cutters and stencils for trapeze and acrobats and haven’t sourced anything. There are lots of royalty free images which you could download and cut around to make gumpaste figures.

Alternatively, you could make a frame to create a trapeze platform. This would be more complicated as it would require hardware components. First thing though, have a look at the real thing and simplify the image to accommodate cake!

Hope some of the suggestions help 🙂
