The Sugar Paste

Hi, has anybody else struggled with The Sugar paste from the cake decorating company?. I Thought I would give it a go after all the hype surrounding it but the elephant skin im trying to smooth out of it is crazy and its even worse if i have dyed the paste prior to covering. Im covering a straight edged cake dummy so i dont know if that is the reason why but i wouldnt of though so

Hi delicatechef

It appears many people are having the same problems that you have described. I’ve read in some forums that mixing a small amount of a softer paste like Renshaws helps to make it more elastic. It might be useful to do that so what you have isn’t wasted. I use cheap supermarket brand paste to cover dummies with or make my own. Works a treat 🙂
