Hi Jill OBrien

I’ve never done it but apparently as long as it is very well wrapped in cling film , bagged up and placed in completely airtight container it should be fine. For ease of kneading back, I would suggest you divide it up into small blocks and wrap separately before freezing. I just store mine in vacuum packed bags in a cool place and have never had problems with it going rock hard. Small amounts can be heated on defrost mode in the micro wave, however, be cautious as heat will change the structure of the paste by drying it out or even burning the sugar. Moisture deprived paste is more susceptible to cracking and crumbling. I wouldn’t recommend doing it when making larger models. Best way is to warm it up in the palm of the hands a small piece at a time. Knead in a tiny bit of trex to get it going. Once softened, keep it covered up when not in use to prevent the air drying it out.
Here are a selection of relatively inexpensive vacuum packing machine:

Hope this helps. 🙂
