Storing Flower paste

Hi

I recently read on the internet that once wrapped, flower paste should be stored in an airtight container in order to prevent it from hardening. Would this be right?I have wasted a fair bit of flower paste in the past, even though it’s been well wrapped in cling film.
I recall seeing a stall at the 2011/12 International Cake Show in Birmingham that sold small containers for flower paste storage, but the flower paste didn’t have to be wrapped prior to being put into the container. Any help would be great thanks.

P.S. The hardened flower paste wasted in the past was not stored in an airtight container. xx

Hi bellescakes

The containers which you recall from cake International can be purchased here:
http://project.thecakedecoratingcompany.co.uk/icing-container-black-by-roceels

There is more information on youtube for this product here:

….. and here is a previous question which you asked some time ago on the same topic :

To keep flower paste from dry out it is advisable to wrap it up very well in a ziplock bag and place in an airtight container. Hope this helps xx:)

Hi madeitwithlove

Thanks very much indeed, yes I remember asking you about these containers before . I had a look at the link you sent and the containers do look good. I don’t want to put you on the spot but in your opinion would storing the f/p in the containers shown in the video be more advantageous that than an ordinary airtight container?

Thanks xx
