Saracino Modelling Paste

This isn’t a question but a share. Following recommendations from fellow cake makers I’ve just tried this modelling paste. Oh wow! It’s brilliant for modelling. Very stretchy and pliable and dries really quickly and colours really well (I bought the white). I not tried it for flowers yet but super impressed for models. Although it hardens quite quickly the ‘scraps’ are still workable so hopefully there will be little waste.

Hi Julie

Excellent! Thanks for sharing. Did you try the sugarpaste?

No I’ve not tried it yet, although I have bought some. Hopefully at the weekend. I’ll put some feedback up when I’ve tried it. I never tried making my own, I think it’s the time factor tbh and if it didn’t work out I’d end up having to buy some anyway. I think that’s one area where I’m happy to let someone else do the hard work!

Feedback will be really useful, thanks Julie. I used to make my own sugarpaste years ago, but can’t see the point now when it is so readily available …… and in all colours and quality. x

Hi all tried the saracino dark blue sugarpaste today on top of ganache which I sprayed with a little vodka to adhere. Well its gone tacky so I couldn’t get my sharp edge. never had this with massa. Anyone else had this problem
