Removing silver shimmer dust from black icing

I’ve made a cake for someone in a hairdressing theme and I painted the scissors in silver shimmer. I forgot to seal it so when I’ve put onto the black fondant the silver has gone everywhere and looks very messy. I tried vodka but that’s just left marks. Any other tips??
Thanks

Hi guccie906

Try rubbing the affected surface gently with a ball of sugarpaste, black in your case if you have any. The paste should pick up the tiny particles of shimmer although it won’t catch all of it. Afterwards gently work in some black petal dust with a soft brush. Dust well otherwise the black with come off on your hands. I’ve done this with other colours, it’s helped enough to pass muster!
Oh, make sure the ball of sugarpaste is not sticky, leave it to crust a little otherwise it will ruin your icing by sticking to it.
