Recipe Hunt

Hi
Can anybody please give me a recipe for a deep 10inch fluted pie or cake? I bought this tin from Lakeland a while ago and there is no recipe on their website as the tin has been discontinued. I have looked on line but so far have found nothing. I’m not sure if either an apple pie or lemon meringue pie would work in such a deep tin but am open to having any advice I can thanks very much.

Hi bellescakes

In your other post relating to this question, you have added that the tin is fluted like a brioche mould. From your description, it does indeed sound like that. I’ve never tried baking apple pie or similar in a brioche mould so can’t say how successful the end product would be. I would think the mould best performs for bread like doughs which are yeast leavened. You could try a brioche or even a panattone recipe. I think it’s depth lend support for the dough during it’s different stages of proofing and then rising during baking. However here is a cake recipe using brioche mould:

I think you’d need to experiment with a few recipes. Let us know how you get on. xx
