Hello, I am a beginner to this. I want to try this cake with buttercream for my daughter’s 1st birthday. Can I use the same receipe for a 8” cake pan?

I have one doubt reagarding the Golden castor sugar. I am living in Switzerland. Here this type is not available. Can I use normal sugar?
