golf bag cake travel advice

hi all im looking at doing this cake a scaled down verson the back board 16″ high.
any ideas on making it travel save from suffolk to london ? x thanks Angie x

Hi Angie

I haven’t made this cake so really not qualified to give an answer. However if I was transporting it, I would probably make the cake as seen in the tutorial but not actually glue the stand in… just have all the holes made so everything was in place. This would allow for the cake to be transported flat and then assembled on the stand at the place of venue. You’d need to take your glue gun and any other emergency kit with you to make instant repairs. I always take piping bags, ganache, royal icing, tools and the kitchen sink!
If you were to transport it standing the cake may collapse due to the constant motion of the vehicle, sudden braking and bumps in the road. Speaking from experience of another tall cake which I won’t bore you with.
