Gold and silver paints

I’ve tried lots of brands and they are always very sticky and move about when you try to add another coat. Mixing lustre with rejuvenator spirit isn’t strong enough. When watching cake programs on tv..albeit usually American there folds and silvers are true colours. Has anyone ever used non-toxic golds and silver paints? A lot of the so called edible glitters are sold as non toxic

Hi gucci906

The non toxic glitters are not edible, they can be used on decorations which will not come into contact with cake.
Edible products must state on the packaging that it is intended for food and say it is edible. This Squires Kitchen product http://www.craftcompany.co.uk/gildesol-20g.html can be used with lustres to bring out a more true colour and works better than rejuvenator spirit. I’ve used metallic paints which are lacquer based. Each layer should be left to dry before the next is applied. I find they work very well but brushes get destroyed! You can see them in the on site shop here http://www.cakeflix.com/shop/product-category/ingredients-mixes-and-colouring/liquid/. Hope this helps. x
