Florist tape

Hi
Is it safe for florist tape on a spray to come into contact with the outside of the cake ?
I know you need a posy pick for wrapped wires but wondered if a barrier was needed between the icing and florist tape .Thanks

Hi Woodysmum

Florist tape is non toxic and already covered with wax which forms a barrier between the icing and tape. When it is inserted into the posy pick, only a small amount of the tape actually sits next to the icing. It is always advisable to use tape specifically intended for use in cake decorating. 🙂
