florist paste

Hi
Just wondering what type or make of florist paste everyone uses.
I normally use Squires, but wondered if there was something else to work with.
Homemade, Satin Ice Gum Paste etc.

Look forward to hearing your replies. Thanks

Hi Jackieharris,

I’ve used Sainsbury’s own brand and find it okay, although it only comes in white and their sugarpaste is also quite good – and you get nectar points too!!

Hope this helps

Thanks, but my nearest Sainsbury’s is about 40 miles away.

I do like the Squire’s florist paste although having tried the Satin Ice I’m definitely going to get more next month while at the show. I had quite a bit of problem with the Renshaw’s flower paste last summer when the weather was so hot. I never have any problems with the Squires’s plus I think it has a much finer drying finish. The Sainsbury’s paste is great for making practice models and flowers but I wouldn’t use it for finer pieces. I don’t really make my own any more, it’s just too much bother now.
