Chrome edible paint

I’ve been asked to make a Range Rover car cake and the picture they sent me is chrome hot pink. How can I get this effect. The metallic paints are good but not chrome. Any tips?

Many thanks

HI gucci906

I’m not quite sure what chrome hot pink is. I’ve seen hot pink metallic edible paint, is that the same as chrome?
If it is, you could make the paint shinier with confectioner’s glaze which would give a very high gloss.

Hi. Thanks for replying. I’ve been asked to make a Range Rover. If you google hot pink chrome Range Rover this is what I’ve been asked to replicate in cake. I think I’m slightly mad for agreeing to do this and have explained that I will do my best regarding the chrome. Have you tried the new rainbow dust Paint it?? Are they any good?

I just had a look at the that range rover. I rate Rainbow dust colours very highly, I use all their products but haven’t tried the liquid paints yet. I can’t see them making a lesser product when everything else they have is just fabulous. I would give it a go, they look brilliant. PME glaze spray will further enhance the gloss.

Ok. Thank you

Hi gucci906

Have you had a chance to see Rose Macefield’s Doc Marten boot tutorial which is live today? Rose has used the spray glaze which I thought might be of interest to you for the hot pink Land Rover cake. You can see how well it shines up. Just a thought x
