Buttercream on top of ganache

Hi I have been asked to do a wedding cake and the request is for the cake to be covered in ganache and then pipe buttercream swirls over the ganache. I usually use fondant in top of ganache. Will the buttercream stick to the ganache? I’m having visions of it slipping off

Thanks

Hi gucci906

It should be ok, the moisture from the buttercream would make the swirls stick to the ganache.
Perhaps try on a small cake as an experiment for peace of mind.

Hi guccie906

If going to decorate with butter cream over ganache (or if you’ve done it), it would be great to hear your feed back for other members to learn from your experience. x
