Hello =) ,

I am wondering if there is a video that may help guide me and give tips on how to cover a 12″ round cake please?

Hi Tammy

Covering a large twelve inch round cake is no different to covering any round cake. An extra long rolling will help you when covering large diametre cakes. Useful tools to own for easier covering eg like these:

I’m sure you already own smoothers, it helps to have a rounded one and a straight one to make sharp edges. I don’t want to over load you with tools because you’ll pick up what is necessary as you go along.

Good luck Tammy, just make sure the first thing you do is secure all the edges on the top of the cake down so the weight of the icing is not pulling down. Gradually but quickly get all the way around in the way Paul shows. Don’t worry you’ll be fine. You have a grand day too! xx
