Sticking Sugarpaste to Ganache

Hi
Do you need to brush anything onto the set ganache on a cake before covering it with sugarpaste to make the sugarpaste stick, or does it stick on it’s own?

Hi Scoffacake

To ensure your sugarpaste sticks to the ganache either use the hot brush method which Paul uses in the tutorials or you can mist the cake with some cooled boiled water. Some people use piping gel, I’ve never done that so I can’t say how it works. If you just make sure that the cake is tacky all over, being careful not to leave any dry spots, the sugarpaste will stick nicely and you won’t get any big air bubbles popping up.
