Snow sugar

I’m making a naked cake and a friend suggested I use the above as opposed to icing sugar because it has a different ingredient which does not disappear into the cake after time. As my cake will stand for 2-3 hours I wonder if this is worth doing? I have no experience of this and had never heard of it. Any views would be welcome, ThankQ.

Hi AnnieLaurie

Snow sugar is a bakery product. It is non melting powder sugar containing dextrose and other ingredients. It’s great for use on cakes which are not enrobed or on biscuits and buns Best places to get it is in bakery ingredients suppliers.

I don’t know what their postal charges are on minium orders. Free delivery if you spend £75.00. Try also in Amazon and ebay. or by googling bakery ingredient suppliers. I can’t see it in any of the cake decorating stores in the UK. Guess it depends where you are located, overseas cake decorating stores do keep the product.

Hope this helps.
