Silver airbrush paint

I recently invested in an airbrush and have been having loads of fun practicing and finally got the hang of it and I came across silver airbrush paint which I though would be good to try… Worked great apart from every now and agin it would suddenly burst too much colour out and you got splatter going on! Just wondered if anyone had used the silver paints before and had any tips to stop this happening.. Thanks!

Hi cakesbynatalie

What might be happening: Some of the silver pigment granules may be clumping together, when these clumps are forced through the airbrush they cause a temporary block. Once they get through and out of the nozzle the pressure build up is released causing the splatter. Solution: depends partly on the type of airbrush paint you are using, some are finer than others. I don’t want to promote one particular paint over another, however there are differences between water based paints and alcohol based paints especially when it comes to metallic colours.
I would recommend that you email Dawn Butler at Dinkydoodle, she is a fantastic tutor in airbrushing and would be more than happy to help you. Here is her contact: http://www.dinkydoodle.co.uk/Contact-Us.html
As you can see from her contact details, Dawn has not only left an email address but also her mobile phone details. I would advise you text her and she will get back to you. She’s an absolutely great gal! hope this helps.

Thanks s much… I thought that might have been the reason but with being new to the airbrush I wasn’t 100% sure! Will definitely contact her for some advise!
