Moving components on a cake

Hello everyone

Hopefully someone can help me! I’ve been asked to make a corporate cake for a company who manufactures escalators, lifts and moving walkways… I haven’t designed anything yet but thought it would be great to make something move as that is what they’re all about.

I wondered about being able to move people up/down/along a walkway, or a lift going up/down. I’m not engineer minded at all although I could work out basic stuff, not sure where to buy what!!

Sorry a bit vague, but can anyone help with this – any ideas or where to buy things that move?!! Please 🙂

Thank you!

Hello goldengoose

Were you thinking of making something out of pastillage or will non edible work for your project?
If non edible will work then why not think out of the box for miniature models? In google images search key words like ‘ miniature escalator models’, ‘minature moving walkways models’ and ‘miniature stair models’.
If you’re thinking of making edible models I would suggest looking at templates and blue prints for the real thing to see how each part fits and construct out of pastillage. As for engineering, how about asking someone in that company for technical advice? I’ll keep looking just in case I come across something useful.
Sorry I can’t be of more help!
