Lady in Bath CAke

Hi

I’d like to make a lady in a bath cake model to sit on top of an iced cake. Is there such a cake on this website? I thought I’d seen one a while ago but may be mistaking. If not please can somebody point me in the right direction?

Thanks very much. x

Hi bellscakes

If it’s just a cake topper you want to make that isn’t too difficult. Depending on how big you want your tub to be take a piece of gumpaste and roll into into a fat sausage. Start moulding it out in the middle to start creating the tub shape. Make it deep enough to take the torso of the lady model. Keep smoothing and shaping until you have a shape which resembles a bathtub keeping the bottom fairly flat so it can sit upright without falling over. Let it dry.
Make the torso of your lady, she could have her arms resting on the sides of the bath. Fill the tub up with lots of little fondant balls to make bubbles reaching up to her chest. At the other end make a pair of feet poking out of the bubbles. Make a sponge, a bath towel on the ground and anything else to do with bath time. You could use Paul’s bath time tutorial as a guide for the feet of the tub or search in youtube for ‘bath tub cake’ where you’ll find a cake a topper. It’s not a tutorial but you can see from the video how to quickly make the shape. Hope it helps. Let me know if you find it.

Thanks very much I had a look and this is similar to what I was thinking of doing. I”d really just like to do a model of a lady sitting in a bath tub on top of the cake but don’t know how to form the bath tub. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated thanks. x

Hi madeitwithlove

Thanks very much for your help. I am going to try this out at a later date as I changed tack at the last minute and made the polka dot handbag cake which turned out very well. I did have a problem with the handle to begin with but added some flower paste to the sugar pastye and that did the trick. It was a really big cake adn went down very well.
