Is it ok to use Mrs Jones’ fruit cake without storing it. Would it taste as good?

I don’t have long before my event. Is it ok to use this recipe?

It’s always much better to store a fruit cake even if it’s just for a week or two. The flavours develop and the texture becomes more moist as the fruit begins to break down. However, lots of people bake and eat, there’s nothing wrong with doing that. If you want a quick moist fruit cake try a boil and bake. There are lots of recipes online, I think Mary Berry might have one. Mitch Turner has a very moist fruit cake too which doesn’t need maturing. Members who have baked Mrs Jones’ recipe say it a very good cake.
