Can you use any bicarbonate of soda for Gluten free cakes or does it have to say gluten free on it?

Baking soda is a chemical all by itself with nothing mixed in, it is gluten free.

they say baking soda in itself is gluten free but if it is baking powder- it has cream of tartar, baking soda, and possibly wheat starch in some-which would not be gluten free- so to check the label- to be sure.
