Fondant on top of buttercream

Hi
I’m going to make some Christmas Cupcakes for friends and family and I noticed that Paul sometimes uses buttercream instead of ganache to stick the fondant to the cakes but when I’ve done this before by the next day the fondant has gone sticky because of the extra moisture from the buttercream.
Please can you help?

Hi Carol

If you let the buttercream setup/crust over first you’ll find the the sugarpaste won’t go sticky. Spraying the decorated cupcakes with PME clear glaze also helps reduce any moisture from degrating the paste. Please take a peek at other related answers here:
