Hi Jay-jay40

I use the wrap around method as shown in this tutorials:
https://partycakescanberra.wordpress.com/2012/07/17/tutorial-how-to-make-a-double-barrel-cake/

The are several similar tutorials which you can see by googling ‘how to cover a double barrel cake’. For video tutorials search for the same in youtube.
I appreciate your cake is deeper but the principle is the same. If you don’t have an extra long rolling pin, use plumber’s piping for carrying water, this is food grade plastic. I usually still cover it up with cling film but there isn’t a need providing it is a water carrying pipe.
Hope the tutorials will help you cover your cake.

Thanks madeitwithlove I was aiming for the wrap around method but thought it is always nicer to do it in on go if it was roughly the same as the wrap around method I have the pluming piping tube that I use for larger cakes xxx
