Hi priyanka1004

Lots of mediums can be used, what kind and how big do you want your decorations to be?
Small animals can be made with coloured marzipan, so can the cup. They will set after a few days and be soft enough to eat. If you want bigger decorations like Paul makes in the tutorials it will be better to use gumpaste. You can make gumpaste with 250g sugarpaste and 1 teaspoon tylose powder kneaded in to make it stronger so it keeps it’s shape and dry hard. The cup can also be made with gumpaste. When tylose is added to sugarpaste it becomes less soft within an hour and can be used for the decorations. Gumpaste when not in use should be kept in a plastic bag otherwise the air will dry it hard. If you like you can colour it with gel colours or paint white gumpaste with powder colours made into a liquid colour by mixing with a little vodka. It’s much easier to colour white gumpaste with gel, you might find that a lot easier than painting.
If you would like to make gumpaste/flower paste/petal paste from scratch there are some recipes here

Decorations made with gumpaste are still edible but too hard to chew and do not taste good. Most people keep gumpaste decorations as keep sakes.
Hope this helps, If you would like more information please post again.
