hi I have been asked to make a bagpipe cake for a friends son have you any tips on how I can get tartan effect or tutorials thanks

For loads of inspiration on how to shape your bagpipe cake take a look in google images.
Make the pipes well in advance, at least two weeks to give them plenty of time to dry. Sorry can’t help with an actual tutorial. I don’t think you’ll have too much trouble carving out the shape. The real thing to study and use as guide will help enormously especially for the pipes.
