3D Marine Boot Cake

0

I would like to make a special cake for a friend who is going into the Marines. I would like to do a 3D Marine Boot cake, but not sure how to begin. I took pictures of a real Marine boot. Any suggestions?

Thank you! Great video. I wish it would have included decorating the boot with the fondant. Any suggestions  where to get a pattern/template for the fondant pieces? Thank you.

I think you will have to make your own.  I would wait until I had covered the cake with fondant (if you are not very experienced let it dry overnight too) and then do a rough shape on paper.  Maybe use modelling paste or flower paste for the ‘decoration’ as it has a bit of stretch to it .  Thus you could cut a piece of paste to shape and lay it where you want it to go.  If it’s too big/not right remove and trim.  Fondant may not like too much handling without breaking (depending on how experienced you are).  Sorry I couldn’t be of more help.
