Costing is always tricky, but roughly how much do you think one should charge for this cake design, including flowers, if it was made entirely of RFC or all sponge? (Approx. 6″8″10″).

David talks about having confidence when pricing your cakes. If you scroll down on that page you’ll see the solution as a guide on how to work out your costings and the amounts to add on to make a profit.
Most of the cakes which Paul makes are sponge, if you make fruit cakes they cost a lot more to produce so you’ll need to take that into consideration.
Take a look also in your local area at how much other cake makers are charging for similar cakes.
